French Light Infantry By AB MINIATURES

Hi All
Here are some more pictures of my AB MINIATURES French Army of 1812.
Almost all were painted by Model Citezen Miniatures and based by me.
There are a few mounted officers based with the Soldiers that were painted by me.
The bases are slightly deeper and wider than I normaly do when basing for AGE OF EAGLES, but only just. I figured the Light Infantry would probably take up a little bit more terrain than their brothers in the line Regiments.

There are 4 Regiments here. I've yet to attach Flags to the Eagles. I might not bother,...

The last two pictures were taken with the flash on. Consequently the "Blue" of the uniforms is a little brighter and lighter than they actually are.

As you can see, MCM does a really good job, and AB Miniatures are really the BEST 18mm Napoleonics available, (IMHO).

EUREKA MINIATURES Revolutionary Scavanger?

Hi All
Just a real quick update.
I thought I'd post two pictures of the magnificent little treasure I purchased some time ago from EUREKA Miniatures. It is a model of a French Revolutionary War soldier rumaging around in a fallen French Grenadier's cartridge pouch for that "last round".
I really enjoyed painting this model. I soon will start on the other 200 something Revolutionary War miniatures that I purchased from Nic.

AB and Fantassin Miniatures Spanish Militia

Inspired by my friend Dan's sterling work in painting my Wurtemburg, Saxon, Westphalian and Bavarian troops, I thought I'd have a crack at painting some Spanish Militia.
BTW, check out Dan's work at his Blog: Gunner's Wargaming
So I ordered the figures and decided to hook in. Too easy, no real study required, (after all, they are militia, and Spanish at that), so I just painted them what ever colours took my fancy, (SHOCK, HORROR; I can just imagine the anal retentive crying in their Osprey's now).
Also, if I made a real arse of it, who cares, they are Militia after all,.... didn't I already say that.

All the miniatures are 18mm AB or Fantassin Miniatures. The fantassin figs I purchased via SCALE CREEP, (who, BTW provide OUTSTANDING customer care and service)

The AB MINIATURES I purchased from EUREKA Miniatures here in Australia, who also are a fantastic business to do erm, um business with.

The 44th Regt of Foot. Miniatures by VICTRIX

Well, I finally got around to painting some of the 500 plus VICTRIX British Peninsular miniatures I have sitting in boxes. I decided I'd have a crack at doing the 44th Regt of foot. Why the 44th? Simply because I hade their flag handy. The flags I used are actually one set of the flags that comes with the PERRY Plastic British, (the VICTRIX ones are a real tight fit on the staffs provided).
Anyway, not a bad first effort at Plastics. I did go a bit to far with the ink wash I think. I also need to touch up the trim on the Colours (flags), and paint in the Brass butt plates on the Brown Bess'.
I've based the bulk on 40mm square bases, with the flank coys soldiers on individual 20mm Square bases, (as I intend on using my 28mm Napoleonics to play Too Fat Lardies rules: SHARP PRACTICE).
I did place the Regimental Colour party on two 40 x 20 mm bases, just by way of an experiment.

Above and below: The Colour Parties with the KING's Colour (Union Flag), and REGIMENTAL Colour (Yellow). The Flags are from the Perry Plastic British Infantry box set

I also did a bit of "mix and match" with some heads and arms from the PERRY PLASTICS. I think this demonstrates the two makes are compatable.

The 44th seen here is composed of 8 bases of 4 figs each, (that's 32 figures total). 4 Grenadiers and 4 light Company figs, (and as I stated earlier, these "Flank" Company soldiers are based individually). I was temped to base the Colour Party troops individually also; and still might with subsequent Regiments.

Over all, I really like the VICTRIX miniatures. I only wish I was a skillfull enough painter to do them justice. I've asked my mate Dan, (of GUNNER'S WARGAMING blog) to do my Highlanders, (tartan is beyond my feeble abilities).

Only about 1000 Brits and French left to paint!

Here are some more pictures of the WURTEMBURGERS that "The Gunner" (of "Gunners Wargaming" Blog) painted for me, (I can claim however I did the basing).
Dan's ("The Gunner") work is really something to behold. Unfortunatly these pictures don't do his work justice. I'm happy to annonce however that a picture of one of the units he painted for me will feature in Sam Mustafa's soon to be released rules, "Lasalle", (part of the "HONOUR" system). All the miniatures pictured here are the magnificent AB MINIATURES, availble from Eureka Miniatures here in Australia.

Spanish On the Fly,..

Here are some pictures of my Peninsular War (1808-1814) Spanish.
All are AB MINIATURES and the vast majority were painted by Reinforcements By Post, (certainly the Spanish on this page were painted by RBP).
RBP did a great job of these guys. I based them no LITKO bases, and geot the flags from WARFLAG and NAPFLAG, (free downloads). You can find links to the Flags on the left of this page.
First is the Princessa Regt. (I've use JENA PRUSSIANS as casualties, as their uniform is close enough to the early Spanish uniform for me)

Next is a "Fusilier" Regt. Not sure of the details of this unit. I wanted them painted like the ABs painted and displayed on the EUREKA MINIATURES web site.













Next is the "FERNANDO VII Regt":













Below is The "Regt des Asturies" (as named on the Liehart & Humbert uniforms web site)
