Hi All

Here are some better pictures of two of my French "Light" Cavalry Regiments:

the French 8th Hussars and French Chasseurs a Cheval:

Above and below: The 8th Hussars! "BON"!

Below: Not as flash as the hussars, but the real work-horses of the French "Light" Cavalry; Chasseurs a Cheval, (this is the 11th Regt). (Personally I like the look of these fellow more so than the Hussars).

Both units painted by Model Citizen Miniatures; (see the link on the left).
Next I'll post some pictures of "foreign" Regiments in French service

AB MINIATURES French "LIGHT" Cavalry

Hi All

Here are some photos of French Chasseurs A Cheval (Top and below) and Hussars (bottom).

I have about four or five Regiments of each of these "Light Cavalry" types.

These two were painted by MCM. All are the magnificent AB MINIATURES.

I'll post more pictures of the remaining French "LINE" Cavalry regiments soon.

EUREKA MINIATURES REVOLUTIONARY FRENCH ARTILLERY!

Hi Guys

I poped into Eureka Miniatures today with my daughter Hayley to buy some "fantasy" type miniatures and some AB MINIATURES Spanish Command figures. Whilst there I spied some new additions to the 28mm Revolutionary French range; namely some Gunners and Guns. As to be expected from a Gunner, I couldn't resist, and bought a 4pdr and a (I think) 8 or 12Pdr, and detachments.


As you can see, they are up to the usual high standards we come to expect from EUREKA MINIATURES. I really like the casting of a young Napoleon sighting (laying) the gun by peering over the barrel, but my favorite figure is the Gunner struggling with the swabing bucket, (ah, the life of the humble gunner).

The Gunner Officer, and Gunner with his thumb over the touch hole (vent) are also very nive, with plenty of crisp detail.

Each gun comes with tools and Ammo Boxes, (one of which is "open").

These are probably amoungst the best modeled Gun Detachments and Guns I have ever seen. High praise comming from a Gunner IMHO!

I Highly Recommend these models!

AB Miniatures WESTPHALIANS! (Part 1)

Hi All
Let's have a look at some more of my AB Miniatures! All painted by Model Citizen Miniatures:

All the figures are the excellent AB MINIATURES 18mm Figures.
These are AB Saxons painted as Westphalians, (because I'm not sure of anyone doing Westphalians in 15/18mm scale, except for ESSEX MINIATURES, or maybe Old Glory).
I don't mind the OG figs, but the ESSEX figs look like "Attack of the Gnomes"!
At top we have the Guard Foot Chasseurs, (in Green uniform), and a Line Regiment . Below we have the Guard De Korps in "Gala Uniform). These guys are actually French Carrabiniers 1812.

They say "variety is the spice of life", so to finish here is a Swiss Regiment in French service. These are from AB's "French Imperial" range!

AB MINIATURES BRITISH CAVALRY

Hi All
Here are some pictures of my AB Miniatures British Cavalry:
First off is actually some German Cavalry, (man, strayed off topic already); KGL Light Dragoons.
These guys were painted by MCM. As usual, painted to David Sinclair's usual High standards!
Next we have some Dragoons in Bicorn. I got these guys from EBAY, and they are painted by Dragon Painting Service, (DPS). I normally don't rate DPS figs as high as say MCM or Reinforcements By Post (RBP), but these guys are really nice!

The next two pictures show my MASSED British (OK, and "German" cavalry). Light Dragoons, Dragoons, and Blues and Life Guards in Helmet.

Finally, (since we're talking "Germans") at the bottom here is a picture of some 1806 Prussian Kurassiers, (Guard de Korps I think,..).

A Quick Update and Announcement!

Hi All
Just a quick update.
Tomorrow I'll post some more pictures of my 18mm AB Miniatures Napoleonics, (probably my Italians and other French Allies).
The main purpose of this short note however is to announce that my daughter Hayley (aged 10), has started her own "Fantasy Wargaming" Blog.
She painted her first unit today, and will upload pictures to her blog tomorrow.
Not historical miniatures unfortunately, "sigh"; but rather those "evil empire" Games Workshop WARHAMMER type figures. GOBLINS!
I must admit, they are nice figs, and we had fun painting them. Hayley put in all the block colours, and I "highlighted" for her.
All in all, she (we) achieved a good first effort / team effort.

The Imperial Guard!

Here I've posted the pictures of my French Imperial Guard 1812.
Most were painted be MCM Painting Service, with the Middle Guard painted by FERNANDO ENTERPRISE Painting Service, and some of the Young Guard which were painted by Reinforcments By Post.
Almost all the figures are AB Miniatures, (which I purchased from Eureka Miniatures). The only exceptions being the "Imperial Staff", which are Fantassin Miniatures that I purchased from SCALE CREEP in the USA.
Now on with the show!
First we have the Emperor Himself, with his Staff gathered around him. Berthier is busy writting orders whilst Napoleon contemplates the campaigns progress with a foot resting on a drum. The next picture shows the Corps Of drums and the Drum Major resting between "Gigs"


The next two pictures shows the Old Guard Grenadiers and Chassuers. The "Grumblers" in Greatcoats were painted by Dragon Painting Service and purchased via EBAY. (I might yet replace them with some more Old Guard in "Parade" dress,....).

Here we see Marshal Ney, "Bravest Of The Brave"!

Below we have the Middle Guard; Fusilier Chassuers and Fusilier Grenadiers, (painted by FE to a "Collector" Standard). I might replace these with the same figures, but painted to a "Showcase" standard

Now for the Cavalry or the Guard!

Of course we need the Guns! The Horse and Foot Artillery of the Guard Imperial!
